English and Spanish (Spanish preferred) Skills Training We Provide for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN): Experience with Seizure Disorders Diastat Experience Insulin Injections or Insulin Pumps Providing medication to students G-Tube feeding & medications Custodial Duties Ability to handle behavioral issues Tracheostomy experience What you will do! Assess medical conditions and needs of students. Follow the direction of school administrators or the credentialed registered nurse, while notifying school admin, site and district nurses of any emergency situations or urgent needs. Provide care and services outlined in MD orders and health care plans for medically fragile students. This can include but is not limited to, G-tube feedings, catheterizations, medication administration, toileting, lifting, insulin administration, Blood Sugar checks etc. Monitor the student(s) at all times, including overall health and well-being, hygiene, comfortability, medications, fluids and foods. Assist with wheelchair bound patients, lifting, transferring and mobility as needed or outlined in the health care plan Assist the teacher and other school administration with students interests, curriculum or daily learning Keep clear and accurate medical records for every student that is interacted with Maintain confidentiality of all personal medical information in accordance to HIPPA guidelines
Minimum Qualifications:
California State Nursing License Current CPR/BLS Card Current Negative TB Result 1-year of experience as an LVN preferred
