Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Nurse Practitioner NP specializing in Advanced Wound Care , including experience with skin grafts and biologic dressings . The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and comfortable working in various healthcare settings while delivering high-quality, patient-centered wound care. This role involves traveling to patient locations or partner facilities to assess, treat, and manage complex acute and chronic wounds. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Provide advanced wound care for acute and chronic wounds, including: Surgical wounds Diabetic ulcers Pressure injuries Venous and arterial ulcers Assist with, apply, and manage skin grafts and biologic wound products Perform wound debridement within RN scope and facility protocols Monitor wound healing progress and document outcomes accurately Educate patients and caregivers on wound care, infection prevention, and treatment plans Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary care teams Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Travel between assigned locations as required Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Qualifications Required:
Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license (multi-state or ability to obtain compact license preferred) Minimum 2 years of nursing experience , with at least 1 year in wound care Hands-on experience with advanced wound care techniques and skin grafts Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and documentation skills Ability to work independently in diverse clinical environments Willingness and ability to travel Current BLS certification
Preferred:
Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, CWON, or equivalent) Experience with mobile wound care, home health, SNFs, LTACHs, or outpatient clinics Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid documentation requirements Experience with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) Skills & Competencies Advanced wound assessment and treatment expertise Knowledge of skin grafts, biologics, and wound healing modalities Strong communication and patient education skills Adaptability and problem-solving in fast-changing environments Compassionate, patient-focused approach What We Offer Competitive travel compensation Flexible scheduling options Opportunity to work with cutting-edge wound care treatments Supportive clinical and administrative team Meaningful impact on patient healing and outcomes
