Our ambulatory surgery center specializes in pain management, orthopedic, and spine procedures, with a strong focus on patient safety, teamwork, clinical excellence, and an exceptional surgical experience. The ideal candidate has prior ASC, OR, PACU, orthopedic, spine, or pain-management experience and is comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment. We are looking for a nurse who is clinically strong, organized, flexible, and committed to maintaining a high standard of patient safety and care. Primary Responsibilities Perform pre-operative nursing assessments and review patient medical histories. Review required medical clearances, laboratory results, diagnostic testing, and pre-operative documentation. Start IVs and administer medications according to physician and anesthesia orders. Educate patients and caregivers regarding the procedure, recovery expectations, and discharge process. Ensure all required documentation is complete prior to surgery. Operating Room / Circulating RN Function as circulating RN for pain, orthopedic, and spine procedures. Maintain patient safety, appropriate positioning, infection-control practices, and sterile technique. Assist surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technicians, and other clinical staff throughout procedures. Complete accurate and timely intra-operative documentation. Monitor and document medications, implants, equipment, supplies, and specimens as applicable. Ensure proper handling and documentation of medications and controlled substances. Assist with room preparation and turnover between cases. Verify required equipment and supplies are available for scheduled procedures. PACU / Post-Anesthesia Recovery Receive and assess patients following anesthesia, sedation, or surgical procedures. Monitor airway, respiratory status, cardiovascular status, neurological status, pain, nausea, surgical sites, and overall recovery. Administer medications and treatments according to physician and anesthesia orders. Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to post-operative complications or emergencies. Communicate clinical concerns promptly to anesthesia providers and physicians. Provide post-operative and discharge education to patients and responsible caregivers. Assist with payments as needed Verify patients meet established discharge criteria before release from the facility. Complete all PACU and discharge documentation accurately and timely. Additional Responsibilities Follow facility policies and procedures related to patient safety, infection prevention, medication management, and clinical care. Maintain compliance with
CMS, AAAHC, OSHA, HIPAA
, and applicable state and federal requirements. Assist with medication, supply, equipment, emergency cart, and controlled-substance checks. Maintain appropriate inventory of clinical and surgical supplies. Participate in infection-control surveillance and prevention activities. Participate in emergency preparedness drills, staff education, and competency assessments. Maintain survey readiness and assist with accreditation activities. Assist in other clinical areas as needed based on surgical volume and staffing. Qualifications Required Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license . Current BLS certification . Current ACLS certification . Strong nursing assessment and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Ability to respond appropriately to clinical emergencies. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary surgical team. Previous Ambulatory Surgery Center experience. Operating Room / circulating RN experience. Experience in pain management, orthopedic surgery, or spine surgery . PALS certification. Experience with implants, spinal cord stimulation, or orthopedic/spine devices. Familiarity with AAAHC or CMS survey requirements.
