1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for an acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience and an active CA RN license. Details Work in the PACU unit including Pre/Post-op and Phase I/II Recovery areas Day shift schedule (5x8 hours), 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, though start times vary by area and can stagger from 0600 to 0830 Flexibility with schedule required, as PACU nurses stay until the workday is complete without shift relief Uses Epic charting system Cares for surgical patients across specialties including ENT, Ortho, Gyn, Urology, Vascular, Plastics, and Ophthalmology Provides pre/post-operative care including discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and pre-op assessments May float between sister facilities as needed Requirements Active CA RN license required, pending license accepted Compact license must be in hand at time of submission Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required Current certifications:
ACLS, BLS, PALS
Experience with respiratory care including end-tidal CO2 monitoring and airway assessment IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required Experience with central line and PICC line care preferred Epic EMR experience required Must provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years Additional Information Acute care facility setting Business casual or scrubs dress code First-time travelers welcome to apply Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility Only one submission allowed system-wide to Providence facilities at a time
