You'll work 1:1 with a student throughout their assessment period at the California School for the Blind, ensuring their well-being, safety, and access to opportunities in a supportive setting.

Key Qualifications:

Active RN license in California Previous experience in school nursing or a relevant pediatric clinical setting Familiarity with accommodations for visually impaired students a plus Strong communication and advocacy skills to collaborate with educators and families Ability to maintain detailed, legally compliant documentation Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care Adaptable and organized, able to respond calmly in a changing environment

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to an individual student during the assessment period Monitor and manage health needs, including medication administration and emergency response Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and specialists to facilitate learning and safety Maintain legal nursing documentation according to licensing and school requirements Serve as a liaison between medical professionals, school personnel, and families Provide input to IEP teams based on the student's health needs This position offers a 60-day contract with approximately 35 hours per week during school hours, with the potential for contract-to-hire based on performance and ongoing needs.
