Essential Elements:
PrintJOB DESCRIPTION 1.
Conducts medical case finding, screening, and referral activities. 2. Refers parents of pupils needing medical care or welfare assistance to appropriate private or community resources. 3. Conducts a program directed toward the control of communicable diseases in the school and community. 4. Serves as a health education resource person to staff and pupils. 5. Assists in the identification of health hazards on school sites. 6. Provides health counseling services for parents and school personnel. 7. Maintains a health record for each pupil. 8. Informs teachers of physical or health liabilities of pupils. 9. Provides nursing service and/or guidance for ill or injured pupils. 10. Notifies parents of pupils about illnesses, physical defects, and potential health problems and provides health counseling directed toward pursuit of appropriate action. 11. Supervises assigned clerical personnel. 12. Serves as a member of special education committees as required. 13. Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements / Qualifications
