Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for conducting skills validation assessments for caregivers to ensure competency, compliance with state regulations, and adherence to agency standards. This role supports quality care delivery by evaluating caregiver performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct hands-on and observational skills validation tests for caregivers, including but not limited to: Personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting) Infection control and standard precautions Safe transfer and mobility techniques Vital signs measurement Medication assistance (if applicable per scope) Evaluate caregiver competency using standardized checklists and agency protocols Provide immediate, constructive feedback and coaching to caregivers Identify skill gaps and recommend additional training or retraining as needed Ensure all validations meet state, federal, and agency regulatory requirements Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all skills assessments and results Collaborate with training staff and management to improve caregiver performance and education programs Stay current on best practices, regulations, and clinical standards related to caregiving
Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience (home care or long-term care preferred) Strong knowledge of caregiver duties and scope of practice Experience in teaching, training, or competency evaluation preferred Excellent observation, communication, and documentation skills Ability to provide constructive feedback in a supportive and professional manner
Working Conditions:
May involve travel to client homes, training sites, or office locations Combination of hands-on evaluation and administrative documentation Flexible scheduling may be required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to demonstrate and evaluate physical caregiving tasks (lifting, transferring, etc.) Prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting
Pay:
$50.00 - $60.00 per hour
