Day/Night Shifts Employment:

Full-Time Federal Contract; two part-time RNs may be considered to share 1 FTE, 1 for day shift and 1 for nights Position Summary Cogent Infotech/ CWS Health is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide critical-care nursing services at an Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado . The RN will primarily work in the Intensive Care Unit and may float to other inpatient areas as needed. The position requires 24/7 coverage, with typical 12-hour shifts of 7:00 AM-7:00 PM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM , including nights and weekends. Schedule & Staffing Options The facility is seeking an approximately equal split between day-shift and night-shift coverage . Candidates may be considered in either of these arrangements: One full-time RN providing the required day/night coverage Two part-time RNs sharing one FTE , such as one RN covering primarily days and another covering primarily nights This flexibility may be ideal for experienced ICU nurses who prefer a part-time schedule or a specific shift. Key Responsibilities Provide advanced nursing care to complex and critically ill patients Continuously assess and monitor patient condition Recognize signs of deterioration and communicate changes to physicians Administer emergency medications, IV fluids, blood-volume expanders, and vasoactive medications Assist with procedures including intubation, cardioversion, invasive-line placement, and chest-tube procedures Insert IV catheters and perform venipuncture Monitor cardiac output, vital signs, peripheral perfusion, and level of consciousness Coordinate patient care with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Administer medications, wound care, and individualized nursing interventions Respond quickly to emergency situations Maintain accurate clinical documentation Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and medical-treatment-facility standards Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) Graduate of an appropriately accredited nursing program Experience Minimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience within the past 3 years At least 1 year of ICU experience Licensure Current, valid, unrestricted RN license Because this is a personal-services healthcare position, qualifying licensure may be maintained in any U.S. jurisdiction , subject to the contract requirements. Certifications Current BLS Current ALS/ACLS-equivalent certification Current PALS Additional Requirement U.S. citizenship required for this contract position Work Environment This is an onsite federal healthcare position supporting the Army Community Hospital. The RN will work with critically ill patients in a fast-paced inpatient environment and must be comfortable with the physical and clinical demands of ICU nursing. #
