Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver to provide safe and compassionate transportation services for residents at a nursing home. This role involves transporting residents to medical appointments, recreational activities, and other destinations while ensuring their comfort and safety. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a friendly demeanor, and a strong commitment to customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttles, or personal vehicles to transport residents within local routes. Adhere strictly to traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and safety protocols during all driving activities. Assist residents with boarding and disembarking vehicles, providing support for those with mobility challenges or special needs. Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle, including routine inspections and reporting any issues promptly. Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and healthcare providers to coordinate schedules and ensure smooth transportation services. Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as assisting with mobility aids or luggage. Follow all safety procedures related to manual handling and passenger transportation to prevent accidents or injuries. Qualifications Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, shuttle driver, or chauffeur is highly preferred. Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., passenger vehicle license), with a clean driving record. Experience operating passenger vans, medical transportation vehicles, or paratransit services is desirable. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and adherence to scheduled pickups/drop-offs. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with residents and team members. Ability to perform light manual handling tasks safely and effectively. Familiarity with local driving routes, traffic regulations, and state transportation laws relevant to passenger vehicles. Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude toward residents and visitors.
