Position Summary The Registered Nurse Administrator serves as the agency's office manager and clinical leader, overseeing daily operations, client care, staff supervision, and compliance. This hands-on role also supports agency growth through community outreach, marketing, and referral partnerships. Key Responsibilities Office Management & Clinical Oversight Oversee daily office operations, staff accountability, scheduling coordination, and clinical services. Complete client assessments, develop individualized care plans and caregiver instructions, and update them as needs change. Conduct reassessments and supervisory home visits at least every 60 days only for clinical clients. Monitor client conditions, develop emergency plans, and coordinate care with families, physicians, case managers, and other providers. Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in admission, discharge, and care-transition decisions. Staff Supervision & Training Supervise caregivers, home health aides, and applicable office and clinical staff. Coordinate assignments based on client needs, staff qualifications, and competency. Provide orientation, competency evaluations, ongoing training, and performance reviews. Review caregiver documentation and address performance, safety, and client-care concerns. Promote infection prevention, confidentiality, emergency preparedness, and professional conduct. Compliance & Agency Licensing Work with operations to maintain compliance with applicable Connecticut Department of Public Health and program requirements. Manage agency licensing renewals, required documentation, and renewal deadlines. Support audits, inspections, policy development, quality improvement, and investigations of complaints or incidents. Maintain working knowledge of Connecticut home care programs and Department of Developmental Services (DDS) programs. Provide regular operational and clinical updates to the COO. Community Outreach & Agency Growth Attend Area Agency on Aging events, community meetings, and networking opportunities. Collaborate with staff to plan and host events that increase awareness of the agency and its services. Market the agency to prospective referral partners, including healthcare providers, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, case managers, and community organizations. Build and maintain referral relationships to support client growth and service expansion. Track outreach efforts and follow up on prospective partnerships and referrals. On-Call & Service Coverage Participate in the rotating on-call schedule, including assigned evenings, weekends, and holidays. Be accessible for clinical concerns during assigned coverage and coordinate timely responses to urgent client or staffing needs. Assist with occasional direct-care coverage and document necessary follow-up. Minimum Qualifications Current, active Connecticut Registered Nurse license. A bachelor's degree or master's degree . Meet applicable education and experience requirements for assigned administrative and nursing supervisory responsibilities. Relevant clinical experience in home health care or a related healthcare setting. Knowledge of Connecticut home care and DDS programs. Strong leadership, office management, clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to build referral relationships and represent the agency professionally at community events. Ability to travel to client homes, agency locations, and outreach events. Availability for rotating on-call duties and occasional direct client care. Maintain all credentials required for the position.
