What they do
A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and facilitate the completion of resident assessments in accordance with Federal and State regulations Establish assessment schedules and ensure that assessments are done in an accurate and timely manner Transmitting assessments to the State of Connecticut, Department of Health Coordinate resident care plans in accordance to regulatory requirements, ensuring that resident care is delivered effectively Initiate Medicare coverage for newly qualified residents and sending denial letters when necessary Remain updated on changes in Medicare coverage and help determine documents necessary for reimbursement.QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced Registered Nurse with knowledge of the MDS process Must possess a Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut Detail oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work cooperatively with our facility interdisciplinary team Flexible and decisive, with the ability to work under pressure Working knowledge of state and federal regulations as they relate to long term care nursing reimbursement Ability to work flexible hours, when necessary Ability to communicate effectively with both a diverse clientele and workforce through sound business decisions, diplomacy and discretion We value our employees and support job enthusiasm and positive relationships.
