12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Every other weekend required
Qualifications:
Active RN license Minimum 1-2 years of relevant nursing experience; prior travel nursing experience preferred Experience with respiratory/ventilator-dependent patients is highly desirable Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred Ability to float to like chronic care units (RCU, RCU2, SDU, TRU) Strong clinical assessment, IV, and wound care skills Clean and organized professional profile
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized nursing care to adults in the Respiratory Step Down and Care Units (ratios: D/E 1:9, N 1:12) Manage complex patient cases, following protocols for IV starts, drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titration, glucose checks, wound vac changes, and wound dressings (complex and simple) Provide trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, and central line dressing changes Accurately document wound measurements and patient responses Collaborate with respiratory therapists who manage ventilators Float between units as required, adapting quickly to new clinical settings Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients with TBI and chronic illnesses This engaging role is ideal for adaptable RNs who excel in dynamic respiratory and medical chronic care environments.
