The New Hartford Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a full-time nurse (RN/LPN). A current
CT RN/LPN
License is required along with up-to-date CPR/First Aid Training.
Job Description:
New Hartford Public Schools is seeking a skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team for the upcoming school year.
Key Responsibilities:
(list not all inclusive) The ability to assess and evaluate the health status of each student in order to make a nursing diagnosis and establish a health plan in collaboration with the lead nurse. The ability to interpret the health status and medical findings to the student, parent and staff responsible for the child. The ability to recommend to the administration modifications in the educational program for a student due to changes in the student's health or medical status. Excellent communication skills to serve as liaison between the parents, school and community in health matters. Knowledge of and experience in performing health screenings. The ability to observe students, as needed, to detect health problems/issues. Excellent organizational skills needed to maintain cumulative health records on all students. The ability to assume responsibility to render emergency care to a student or staff member when injured or ill. The ability to review and recommend revisions in school nursing policies and procedures. The ability to digitally document medical notes and information using the districtwide data collection tool (PowerSchool). General ability to use technology to store information digitally, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with staff and families. Any other related duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications:
LPN or RN Currently licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health Current certification in
CPR Salary:
