As an RN in this rewarding full-time contract role, you will partner with a collaborative teamincluding a special education teacher and skilled support stafffostering a nurturing, engaging environment throughout the school year and extended school year (ESY) session.

Key Qualifications:

Active RN license in Connecticut Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred Confident in providing timely and appropriate medical response Strong communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting Ability to support classroom activities and student participation when not providing medical intervention Comfort working in small, specialized settings with individualized supports

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver immediate and skilled nursing care in response to medical needs of a first-grade student Closely observe for changes or emergencies, intervening according to established health protocols Facilitate a safe classroom experience by partnering with the teaching team and other support staff Document health interventions clearly and communicate updates to relevant parties Engage in daily classroom life, providing encouragement and assistance to the student in the absence of direct medical needs Collaborate with school personnel and families to ensure a seamless care plan throughout the academic year and summer session This contract follows the traditional school calendar with additional opportunities during summer school and a strong potential for renewal. Compensation ranges from $40 to $43 per hour, reflecting the value of specialized skills and dedication to student well-being.
