1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license and 2 years of PACU experience. Details PACU unit caring for a wide range of surgical patients including general surgery, GYN, ortho, urology, neuro, and vascular cases (excluding open heart) Cares for outpatient, in-house, and to-be-admitted surgical patients Occasional ICU-level patients due to bed availability or status changes Occasional teenage patients Typical patient ratio of 1:2 May float to other PACU units across both campuses Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 8:00 AM-8:30 PM Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends required Must remain until case completion if it runs past scheduled shift end No on-call requirements Uses Epic charting system Orientation held every other Friday Requirements Active CT or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification preferred Epic charting experience required Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Experience with post-anesthesia recovery skills such as airway assessment, extubation, and ABG interpretation Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration preferred One professional reference required for consideration Additional Information Provide post-anesthesia recovery care across a broad range of surgical specialties in a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only First-time travelers are welcome to apply Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
