RESPONSIBILITIES

 Provide routine and emergency health care, including medication administration, to students grades 9-12  Initiate, develop, maintain, & coordinate student health condition management (EHCP, IHCP, 504, IEP, Homebound) & make appropriate referrals.  Promote and protect the optimal physical, social and emotional health of school-age children in order to support the education process.  Implement all federal, state and local screening mandates and laws.  Observe, identify and address health patterns and atypical findings.  Maintain, evaluate and interpret cumulative health data to accommodate individual needs of the students.  Provide health education and appropriate referrals to community resources for students and families.  Serve as a liaison between the student, school and home.

QUALIFICATIONS



Education :

Bachelor's degree required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; related degrees considered  Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice nursing in the State of Connecticut.  Current CPR Certification required.  Minimum of one-year experience in hospital nursing, school health nursing, community health nursing, or pediatric nursing.  Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.  Strong technology skills and knowledge of Google sheets and docs.
