2996663172-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Hartford Healthcare seeks a Cardiothoracic Surgery & ICU nurse to deliver advanced care for complex cardiac and thoracic patients. In this role, you'll provide pre- and post-operative care, manage ventilators and invasive lines, titrate critical drips, and respond to emergencies in a fast-paced ICU setting. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, and interdisciplinary team members to create and implement care plans, educate patients and families, and ensure compliance with clinical protocols. Responsibilities Provide critical care to cardiothoracic surgery patients in the ICU setting Manage ventilators, invasive lines, and titratable vasoactive drips Deliver pre- and post-operative assessment, monitoring, and intervention Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response and code events Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and interdisciplinary team members on care plans Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge plans Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to clinical protocols and safety standards Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and electronic health records effectively Required Skills Cardiothoracic postoperative care ICU nursing Ventilator management Hemodynamic monitoring Vasoactive drip titration Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Electronic Health Records (EHR) Arterial and central line management Rapid response and code management Patient and family education
