In this dynamic role, you will lead efforts to monitor, evaluate, and improve infection control practices across various healthcare settings, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your proactive approach and leadership will help minimize infection risks and foster a culture of safety and excellence. Duties Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive infection control policies and procedures aligned with current public health guidelines and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular patient observations and monitor clinical environments to identify potential infection risks using aseptic techniques and physiology knowledge. Lead infection prevention initiatives by educating staff on best practices related to microbiology, epidemiology, OSHA standards, and medical-surgical protocols. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate data collection, proper care plan documentation, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage care plans for patients with infectious diseases, ensuring appropriate treatment and containment strategies are followed. Perform routine audits of medical records, infection control data, and patient monitoring logs to track trends and improve safety measures. Lead investigations during outbreaks or incidents involving infectious diseases, utilizing epidemiology expertise to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Experience Proven experience in critical care environments such as hospital intensive care units or Level I trauma centers is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of acute care procedures, infectious disease care protocols, and microbiology fundamentals is essential. Prior experience assisting living facilities or working within hospital settings will be advantageous. Familiarity with Level II trauma center operations or similar high-acuity environments enhances your suitability for this role. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, coordinate infection control efforts, and influence best practices across departments. Proficiency in data management systems related to medical records, MDS (Minimum Data Set), and infection tracking tools is desirable. Comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, public health principles, medical terminology, OSHA standards, and HIPAA compliance is crucial for success in this position.
