A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. This contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses with backgrounds in Rehab/LTC or Long Term Acute Care (LTAC), particularly those with strong experience caring for respiratory and vent-dependent patients.
Schedule & Hours:
12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Every other weekend is required
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Active RN license with 1-2 years of relevant RN experience Prior travel nursing experience is preferred Previous work with respiratory or vented patients strongly desired BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred Ability to float between chronic care units (RCU2, SDU, and TRU) depending on shift needs Strong assessment, IV, and wound care skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct care to respiratory and medically complex patients, with a focus on trach care, suctioning, IV starts, blood administration, EKGs, medication titration, and glucose monitoring Complete both complex and routine wound dressing changes, including wound vac management and wound measurements Manage port access, central line dressing changes, straight cath, and foley care Collaborate with respiratory therapists—ventilator management is not required by nurses Adapt to a dynamic environment, floating as needed between units during 12-hour shifts
