Job Description

As an RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator in the Medical ICU at HCA Healthcare, you will coordinate and deliver high-acuity nursing care for critically ill patients while guiding a team of dedicated ICU nurses. You will oversee daily clinical operations, support evidence-based practice, and collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes. In this leadership role, you'll mentor staff, support education and onboarding, and promote a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous improvement within a leading, growth-oriented healthcare system. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee daily nursing operations in the Medical ICU to ensure safe, quality patient care Provide direct bedside care to critically ill patients, including assessments, interventions, and evaluation of outcomes Supervise, mentor, and support ICU nursing staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans Monitor unit performance, clinical protocols, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards Assist with staff scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization for the ICUSupport orientation, training, and continuing education for new and existing nursing staff Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects to enhance patient outcomes Required Skills Critical care nursing ICU patient monitoring Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) Care coordination Clinical leadership and supervision Ventilator management Hemodynamic monitoring Electronic health records (EHR) Quality and safety compliance Interdisciplinary collaboration
