Job Description

Join HCA Healthcare as a PACU Registered Nurse, providing high-quality post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in a fast-paced recovery unit. You will assess and monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, manage pain and sedation, respond rapidly to changes in condition, and collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams. You'll follow evidence-based protocols, ensure accurate documentation, and educate patients and families on post-op care. Responsibilities Provide post-anesthesia care and monitoring for PACU patients Continuously assess vital signs, airway, pain, and sedation levels Administer medications and treatments per physician and anesthesia orders Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations Perform patient education on post-operative and discharge care Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members Maintain infection control and patient safety standards Operate and troubleshoot PACU monitoring and infusion equipment Participate in ongoing clinical education and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Post-anesthesia patient assessment Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring Airway management and respiratory monitoring IV therapy and medication administration Pain and sedation management Interpreting EKG and vital sign trends Use of PACU monitoring equipment (pulse oximetry, cardiac monitors) Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Infection prevention and control practices Emergency response and rapid intervention
