A Cardiology Registered Nurse provides care for patients with heart problems. Performs cardiac tests and assessments, educates patients and families about cardiac disease and preventative health care, and cares for patients after heart surgery. Works with specialized monitoring and treatment equipment. Trained to provide emergency medical care to cardiac patients. Works under the supervision of a physician. Works in hospital cardiology or intensive care units or cardiac rehabilitation programs.

$35.04 - $47.30 / hour Summary Facilitates a timely, integrated and coordinatedapproach to the care of patients with surgical cardiac and thoracic disease. Coordinatescare for patients throughout the continuum of care from diagnosis to therelease from care. Uses amultidisciplinary approach and acts as a liaison between the patient, staff andreferring physician offices as well as ancillary departments of the hospitalsystem. Identifies learning needs and content for educational programs.

Develops, presents, coordinates and evaluates educational activities.

Effectively performs in the role of clinician, facilitator, advocate,consultant and/or researcher. The NurseNavigator will guide the patient/family through the complexities of thehealthcare process, working to eliminate barriers that might otherwiseadversely impact patient care/outcome and will help to coordinate the effortsof the medical team to facilitate continuity of care and enhance patientsatisfaction.
