Med Surg Registered Nurse

Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Med Surg II Registered Nurse (PRN) to deliver safe, evidence-based care to adult medical-surgical patients. In this flexible PRN role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, coordinate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and educate patients and families. You will administer medications, monitor complex conditions, and respond to changes in status using critical thinking skills. Responsibilities Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients in an acute care setting Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately Monitor, interpret, and document patient status, vital signs, and responses to treatment Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards and hospital policies Prioritize and manage multiple patients and rapidly changing clinical needs Participate in ongoing professional development and unit-based quality initiatives Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment Care planning and coordination IV therapy and medication administration Telemetry and vital signs monitoring Wound care and post-op management Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Clinical prioritization and time management Infection control and safety protocols
