Job Description

Join HCA Healthcare as a Resident I Graduate Nurse on our Medical-Surgical unit. In this structured nurse residency, you'll provide direct patient care, perform assessments, administer medications, and support discharge planning under experienced preceptor guidance. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, build strong clinical and communication skills, and use evidence-based practices to improve outcomes. Responsibilities Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to Med-Surg patients under supervision Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate patient care Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects Perform patient assessments, document findings, and update care plans Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans Participate in nurse residency education, skills labs, and competency validation Use EMR systems accurately for charting and clinical workflows Support quality, safety, and infection prevention initiatives on the unit Communicate clearly with physicians, nurses, and support staff Uphold HCA policies, ethical standards, and patient-centered care values Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment Medication administration Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Care planning Clinical documentation IV therapy and phlebotomy Vital signs monitoring Patient and family education Infection control and safety
