POSITION OBJECTIVE

Part-time SANE - RN or APRN who provides forensic nursing services to sexual assault survivors throughout Brevard County while maintaining ongoing communication and collaboration with SANE leadership, team members, and community partners. This role supports the consistent delivery of trauma-informed, clinically appropriate, and program-compliant SANE services and contributes to the ongoing effectiveness of the SANE program. This position is for Overnights and Weekends.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Conducts and documents sexual assault medical forensic exams accurately and timely, per the IAFN medical forensic exam guidelines Establishes and maintains an effective professional collaborative relationship with leadership, community partners and all staff Acts as a resource for SAVs leadership, all SANEs and hospital providers regarding sexual assault medical forensic exam procedures, court testimony and other pertinent issues as they arise Serves as a team mentor and educator to all new SANE nurses Establishes and implements a system to maintain supplies and equipment, as needed to conduct forensic examinations. For quality assurance, reviews assigned medical and forensic charts for appropriate documentation and provides feedback to the attending SANE for the case Attend program related meetings to include:

SART, SAVS, SANE

staff meeting, SANE chart review and other meetings as dictated by Leadership. Responds to subpoenas for depositions and court testimony Ensures OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and patient/medical record confidentiality policies and procedures are followed at all times (HIPAA) Maintains professional standards that do not create conflict of interests with employment or patient care Collaborates with the SANE Program's Medical Director(s) and SANE Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator to develop, review and update SANE policies and procedures on a yearly, and as needed, basis Collaborates with SANE Coordinator with

hour SANE trainings. Perform assigned task by SANE Coordinator and/or Assistant Coordinator in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned by SANE coordinator, Assistant Coordinator, or Leadership team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

An experienced Registered Nurse or an Advance Practice Registered Nurse with an active, unencumbered Florida license, who has completed the 40 Hour Adult / Adolescent and / or 40 Hour Pediatric SANE training that meets the IAFN standard to be eligible for the

certification examination Has experience with conducting medical forensic exams Has the ability to interact and negotiate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate program needs, and works well with staff

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands include sitting or standing for extended periods of time, bending, traveling to outside meetings, regular use of standard office equipment such as the telephone, copier, fax and computer. Demands also involve protracted concentration. Reliable transportation is required. Job involves frequent interactions with internal and external customers, and routinely intense public contact. This position involves handling of and exposure to blood, urine, bodily fluids, and possible pathogens.
