required: Clinical Educator - Skilled Nursing & Rehab Experience required
Job Summary:
The Clinical Educator will manage all aspects of employee hiring, screening, orientation, and maintenance ofcation and employee health files for Majestic Oaks. Coordinates, and manages required employeecation and works in conjunction with interdisciplinary team to identifycational/training deficits across the nursing department. Assists the clinical management team w needed. Also assures resident safety.
Core Competencies/Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop yearlycational calendar including state/federal requirements as well as health related courses. Organize and plan orientation and in-service as well as direct staff to attend as required by facility policy or state and federal regulation
- Enforceanizational policies and ensures standards of care are maintained
- Conduct pre-hire screening for potential employees including initial paperwork and drug screen. Upon hire,plete new hire orientation and overseepetency check off lists
Conduct frequent rounds throughout facility to evaluate resident condition, environmental standards, and staff performance. Occasionally oversee direct care activities to assure that practices are consistent with evidenced based practice, facility standards and that resident rights are protected.
Maintain employeecation and health files including administration of tuberculin screenings, Hepatitis B vaccination, andpliance with licensure renewal for clinical staff. Responsible to coordinate both staff and resident influenza programs.
Utilize the quality indicators and quality measures when available in conjunction with facility management to develop a plan of action to improve resident care delivery through continuedcation. Conduct root cause analysis of quality indicators that deviate from acceptable standards; identify patterns and trends; develop plan to achieve desired standards
Participate in facilitymittees or the review of minutes of assignedmittees that oversee specific resident care issues such as Care Plans, Fall Committee, Admission meetings, CQI, Resident " at risk" meetings
Obtain drug screenings as needed for employee incidents and random drug screenings when indicated.
Maintain notes and other pertinent records pertaining to employee performance; conducts staff performance appraisals, counseling, or discipline as appropriate
Serve as back up for weekly wound rounds with wound care physician andplete necessary tracking logs
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
Assures resident safety at all times
Participate in state recertification process or other regulatory activity
Assist with clinical emergencies, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Provide direct care as needed
Maintain openmunication regarding unit staff or care delivery with Director of Nursing
Establish and promote a positive relationship with facility staff, independent physician practitioners, and area hospitals
Assist families in understanding facility's policies and prores
As directed, act in the capacity of the Director of Nursing in their absence.
Take on call rotations or after hours calls as directed.
Participate in admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
Other duties as requested or assigned.
Working Conditions:
Usually works indoors but may have to work outside during outside events and parties.
May be exposed to loud noises and sounds that are distracting.
May be exposed to diseases or infections from contact with residents or other staff members.
May need to wear safety gear such as gloves and or masks.
Scled hours may vary based on facility need.
Educational, Physical, and Other Requirements:
Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse (Learn more: info.flclearinghouse) Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable amodations. Physical requirements may include frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift, stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and smell. Vision abilities may require close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
For the safety and security of our residents and patients, employees must be able to read, write, and verballymunicate in English, which is the most universally used language of our resident and employee population.
Must be able to demonstrate clinical assessment skills at the level necessary to meet the job requirements.
