The ability to administer chemotherapy, hydration and other medications as prescribed by physician. Observes, records and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports, placement of peripheral IV's and maintains central lines catheter devices. Triage's patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart. Assess patients and communicate and document changes related to lab values for patients. Function as a liaison for management staff, administration, physicians, managed care companies, community organizations, and other customers. Coordinate efforts for treatment and promotes quality improvement and educational efforts. Compile data, tracks outcomes, and makes recommendations for process improvement. Provide referrals/support for follow-up care for patients who are uninsured or under insured.
