Job Overview We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct clinical care within The Pride Center's sexual health clinic, supporting HIV/STI testing, screening, treatment, and prevention services. This is a hands-on, hybrid clinical role that includes nursing, phlebotomy, and medical assistant responsibilities to support efficient clinic operations in a lean, team-based environment. The RN works under established clinical protocols and standing orders to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive care while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with clinical and 340B program requirements. The ideal candidate is confident working independently within structured protocols, comfortable performing a wide range of clinical tasks, and adaptable in a fast-paced setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a willingness to take ownership of patient care and clinic flow. This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) aligned with clinic operating hours, including some evening and weekend hours. Duties Provide direct patient care for sexual health services, including STI screening, assessment, and treatment under established clinical protocols and standing orders. Administer medications and treatments, including injectable therapies, oral medications, and vaccinations, in accordance with clinical guidelines. Conduct comprehensive sexual health assessments, including medical history, risk evaluation, and symptom review. Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection, including blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples, ensuring proper handling and laboratory coordination. Support PrEP and PEP workflows, including patient preparation, laboratory coordination, and follow-up processes. Perform medical assistant functions, including patient intake, vital signs, rooming, and preparation of exam spaces. Support clinic flow and patient throughput, ensuring efficient, timely, and patient-centered service delivery. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the EMR system for all patient encounters. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control standards, HIPAA requirements, and organizational policies. Support 340B program compliance at the point of care through accurate documentation and adherence to service delivery requirements. Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and program team members to ensure continuity of care and a seamless patient experience. Maintain clinic readiness, including equipment preparation, supply management, and organization of clinical spaces. Provide backup support for HIV testing services as needed and participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities.
Requirements Licensure:
Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida required. License must be in good standing and eligible for practice in accordance with Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) requirements.
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of direct patient care experience required, preferably in clinical, outpatient, or community-based healthcare settings.
Clinical Practice:
Ability to work independently under standing orders and established clinical protocols, with strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
Phlebotomy:
Demonstrated competency in venipuncture and specimen collection required; including processing samples for laboratory submission; candidates without current competency must obtain training and demonstrate proficiency within a timeframe established by the organization upon hire.
Clinical Skills:
Experience administering injections, medications, and vaccinations preferred; comfort performing a wide range of hands-on clinical tasks required.
Sexual Health Experience:
Experience or strong familiarity with HIV/STI testing, treatment, and prevention services preferred.
Documentation:
Ability to complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Compliance & Safety:
Knowledge of infection control practices, HIPAA requirements, and clinical compliance standards required.
Work Environment:
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-facing clinical environment with flexibility to support clinic operations, including some evenings and weekends.
Level II Florida AHCA Background Screening:
Candidates must successfully pass a fingerprint-based Level II background check as a condition of employment. This screening is mandatory with no exceptions and must be cleared through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Clearinghouse before assuming duties.
