Job Description
Shift:
7:00 AM- 7:00
PM Experience:
- 24 months of experience with 2 years within the last 48 months (4 years).
- 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
- 3 months of travel experience is required.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).
- This role may require floating to additional units and locations
- Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.
- COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

- 1 travel assignment required.
- 2 years of specialty experience required.
- Need to have experience with the same type of hospital acuity; no critical access hospital-only background.
Unit Details:
- Uses Meditech.
- Patient population includes diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis, overflow post-surgical patients, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psych.
- Dialysis nurse available.
- Common medications include Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin.
- Monitored patients are on a different unit; nurses are not required to read strips.
- CPAP; BiPAP at night only.
- Charge nurses typically do not take a patient assignment unless needed.
- CNA support is generally 1:12 and CNAs may be pulled for 1:1 observation and sitters.
- LPNs and LPN-Cs are used on the floor.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Every other weekend.
- Maximum time off: 3 days.
Floating Requirements:
- Floats to all acute care and cardio units to care for medical patients, or to the EC for acute care patient holds.
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
