Oct 26, 2026 Job Description School Nurse•Park Creek School Click on the link to learn more about working for Dalton Public Schools https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nz5B4Gp0g9IqvpPnPo70C8tPbVnOESyI/view?usp=sharing Job purpose: The school nurse will support student success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children within the school. The school nurse will be responsible for addressing the health needs of students and staff when needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs student health procedures and assists students with administration of medication Communicates and collaborates with school personnel, nursing administration, students and families in a professional manner and with appropriate frequency about school health issues Document, compile, and analyze data for reports on school health services Ensure the use of proper forms, permission slips, and schedules for dispensing medication Evaluates student injury reports and record as needed/requested. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material Maintains updated health records on students Ensures primary workstation and responsibilities are covered at all times during the working day Plans and implements school health management protocols Screens and evaluates findings of deficit in vision, hearing, growth, etc. Observes the child for development and health patterns in making nursing assessment Provides consultation in the formation of health policies, goals and objectives for the school district.
Qualifications:
Completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse Program Must hold valid State of Georgia Practical Nurse license Must hold valid certification for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Salary Range:
$23,186•$35,291
