Additional $5/hour for night and weekend shifts Job Overview We are seeking Registered Nurses to join a hospital-based Labor & Delivery team in Brunswick, Georgia. The Maternity Care Center has recently transitioned into dedicated Labor & Delivery and Postpartum areas. Nurses in this position will primarily work within Labor & Delivery but must also be comfortable providing postpartum care when needed. The Labor RN manages patients throughout the obstetric care continuum, including antepartum triage, labor, delivery, Cesarean section circulation and recovery, and postpartum care. Experienced acute-care hospital RNs from other specialties who are interested in transitioning into Labor & Delivery may also be considered and will complete an approximately six-month L&D orientation program. Responsibilities Manage the care of assigned obstetric patients using appropriate clinical judgment and decision-making. Perform obstetric triage and antepartum assessment. Provide nursing care throughout labor and vaginal delivery. Serve as a circulating RN during Cesarean sections. Provide post-anesthesia and post-Cesarean recovery care. Provide postpartum nursing care as needed. Assess patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately. Deliver evidence-based nursing care using appropriate personnel, equipment, supplies, and clinical resources. Communicate and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care. Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth experience. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow hospital safety and quality standards. Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree nursing program. Current RN license to practice in the State of Georgia. Minimum 1 year of acute-care hospital nursing experience. American Heart Association BLS certification prior to hire. Ability to provide postpartum nursing care. Ability to meet the unit's weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements. Experience Previous Labor & Delivery experience is strongly preferred. RNs currently working in another acute-care hospital specialty may be considered for a transition into Labor & Delivery. Candidates pursuing this pathway must be willing to complete an approximately six-month orientation and training program. Scheduling Requirements Candidates must be able to participate in the department's shared scheduling rotation:
On Call:
Approximately 1 on-call shift every 2 weeks.
Weekend Requirement:
6 weekend-designated shifts within each 6-week scheduling period. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are considered weekend shifts. Weekend shifts may be spread throughout the six-week schedule or grouped into fewer weekends depending on staffing needs and scheduling preferences.
Holidays:
Rotating holiday schedule divided between Team A and Team B.
Compensation & Incentives Base Pay:
$33.50-$53.49/hour, based on experience.
Night Differential:
Additional $5/hour.
Weekend Differential:
Additional $5/hour.
