A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
Description Assist with Daily Living (ADLs). This includes helping patients with bathing, dressing, grooming feeding and toileting. Monitoring Vital Signs, taking and recording vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure. Assisting with Mobility, helping patients move, including transferring them between beds, wheelchairs, and other areas, as well as assisting with walking and exercise when appropriate. Providing Comfort and Support, developing nurturing relationships with patients and families, and providing emotional support. This may also involve assistance with comfort devices and safety measures. Observing and Reporting, carefully observing patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions, noting any changes, and reporting them to the primary nurse/charge nurse. Perform oral care, hair care, peri care, and catheter care. Weighs patients and documents weight in appropriate area Answers call lights for all patients in a courteous and timely manner; Positions call lights within reach of the patient. Documentation, maintaining accurate patient records and documenting care activities. Maintaining a clean and safe environment, changing bed linens, may at times be required to clean rooms, and ensure safety measures are in place such as bed alarms. Stoking supplies, replenishing medical supplies in patient rooms and other areas Assisting with procedures, assisting nursing staff and/or provider as directed. Transporting patients, understands and can safely use lift equipment, and assist with moving patients throughout the hospital for treatments, tests, procedures or activities, utilizing wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum age of 18. One-year experience as a nursing assistant or previous health care training preferred Certified Nursing Assistant, preferred, but not required BLS certification required, or within 90 days of employment.
