What they do

A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Duties included
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients' conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their comfort and safety
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Document patient information accurately
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique during procedures Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Experience working with doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Familiarity with Sonography procedures and equipment
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (e.g., Athenahealth)
  • Ability to perform aseptic techniques during procedures
