This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality surgical nursing services within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in perioperative nursing, with experience in aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and patient assessment. As an integral part of our OR team, you will deliver exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgical interventions while ensuring compliance with safety standards and hospital protocols. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, functional, and ready for procedures. Assist surgeons during procedures by maintaining a sterile environment, passing instruments, and managing surgical tools efficiently. Monitor patient vital signs continuously during surgery using advanced monitoring systems such as ECG, pulse oximetry, and ventilator management. Administer medications including anesthesia agents and analgesics with precision, adhering to prescribed dosages and safety protocols. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), including intraoperative assessments, medication administration, and post-operative instructions. Support patient safety by practicing strict aseptic techniques, infection control measures, and adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiologists, surgeons, and support staff to ensure seamless surgical workflows and optimal patient outcomes. Experience Valid RN licensure with current state registration or licensing required. Proven operating room experience with familiarity in OR protocols, sterile processing, and surgical instrumentation. Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or emergency medicine backgrounds that enhance rapid assessment skills. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Knowledge of anesthesia administration techniques including IV infusion and airway management is highly desirable. Experience working within hospital settings that require adherence to NCQA standards or similar accreditation processes. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to surgery, and proficiency in aseptic technique practices.
