Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a School Health Nurse at Kūlanihākoi High School, where you will play a vital role in promoting student health, safety, and well-being. This impactful position involves providing health services, managing acute and chronic health conditions, and fostering a safe learning environment. You will serve as a key resource for students and families, ensuring adherence to health regulations and delivering compassionate care that supports student success. Your expertise will help create a healthy school community where every student can thrive academically and personally. Duties Assess and manage student health concerns through thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation. Provide emergency care for acute injuries or illnesses in compliance with health regulations and emergency medicine standards. Collaborate with school staff to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student health issues while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Maintain accurate medical records, ensure compliance with nursing policy standards, and document all patient care activities thoroughly. Conduct health education sessions on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, immunizations, and injury prevention to promote overall wellness within the school community. Qualifications Ability to handle medical care tasks safely while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality. Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and interprofessional collaboration with parents, educators and healthcare providers.
