3007320304-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Gifted Healthcare is seeking a Travel Emergency Room RN for a leading hospital in Burlington, Iowa. In this contract role, you'll deliver high-quality, rapid emergency care to diverse adult and pediatric patients, performing triage, assessment, medication administration, and coordination of care in a fast-paced ER. You will collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to stabilize acute and trauma cases, document accurately in the EMR, and follow strict safety and infection-control standards. Responsibilities Provide rapid assessment, triage, and stabilization for ER patients across all acuity levels Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions per provider orders and protocols Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses, escalating changes promptly Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMRMaintain strict adherence to infection control, patient safety, and hospital policies Support trauma and code situations, preparing and operating emergency equipment Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge instructions Float within ER-related areas as needed based on census and acuity Participate in shift handoffs, communicating clearly to ensure continuity of care Required Skills Emergency patient assessment Triage (ESI or similar) IV insertion and medication administration Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation Wound care and suturing assistance Ventilator management support Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Administration of high-risk medications Care in high-acuity/trauma settings Infection control and safety protocols
