Shift:
Days or nights, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m., with weekend and holiday rotation. Role Details Behavioral Health Registered Nurse The Behavioral Health RN provides individualized nursing care for geriatric psychiatric patients, assessing mental and physical health needs, administering medications and treatments, monitoring responses to care, and promoting a safe therapeutic environment. The nurse uses therapeutic communication, de-escalation, crisis intervention, patient and family education, and close collaboration with physicians, social workers, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team. Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)
Certification/License:
Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
