Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner. Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques, including IV infusions, suturing, and catheter care. Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, trauma medicine, ICU care, or specialty areas like cardiology, ophthalmology, or neonatal resuscitation procedures. Perform diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and radiology procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable. Provide patient education on health coaching topics including chronic disease management, geriatrics, dementia care, or hospice & palliative medicine. Collaborate with physicians during procedures such as catheterization or tube feeding and assist in emergency response situations like airway management or trauma medicine. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with NCQA standards and ensure confidentiality of medical records per HIPAA regulations. Experience Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospital medicine, emergency room (ER), ICU, or trauma centers (Level I & II Trauma Center experience). Strong background in critical care settings including ICU experience, Level I Trauma Center experience, or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) experience. Hands-on expertise with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding is highly desirable. Experience providing specialized care in areas such as geriatrics, behavioral health, infectious disease care, or long-term care including nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Skilled in performing advanced procedures such as ventilator management, NG tube placement, ostomy care, dialysis support, or neonatal ventilator management. Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterile processing practices to ensure patient safety across all clinical activities. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; experience in home care or community-based settings is a plus.
