Onsite Registered Nurse Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly dependable Onsite Registered Nurse (RN) to provide medical support and oversee the healthcare needs of guests, players, coaches, and staff at National Parks Baseball Resort. As the resort's primary onsite nursing resource, you will provide first aid and nursing care, respond to injuries and medical concerns, assist with medication management, and coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, emergency medical services, and other healthcare providers when additional care is needed. This role is particularly important during our summer tournament season, when hundreds of players, coaches, families, and staff may be onsite at any given time. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, exercising sound clinical judgment, maintaining accurate medical records, communicating professionally with parents and guardians, and creating a safe and reassuring environment for everyone at the resort. ResponsibilitiesMedical Care & First Aid Serve as the primary onsite nursing resource for National Parks Baseball Resort. Provide nursing care, first aid, injury assessment, and medical support within your professional scope of practice. Respond promptly to player, coach, staff, and guest injuries and medical concerns. Assess common sports-related injuries and determine appropriate treatment, monitoring, or referral. Provide care for minor injuries, illnesses, dehydration, heat-related conditions, sprains, strains, cuts, abrasions, and other routine medical needs. Recognize serious or potentially life-threatening medical situations and activate emergency medical services when appropriate. Provide or coordinate appropriate care within your RN scope of practice and applicable laws and regulations. Coordinate with local EMS, physicians, urgent care facilities, hospitals, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers as necessary. Communicate appropriately with parents or guardians regarding a player's medical situation and recommended care, consistent with applicable policies and privacy requirements. Medication Management Serve as the primary onsite resource for medication-related needs at the resort. Establish and maintain appropriate procedures for receiving, storing, documenting, administering, and disposing of medications within the RN's scope of practice and applicable laws and regulations. Assist guests and players with medication needs when appropriate and authorized. Maintain secure and organized medication storage and appropriate access controls. Maintain accurate medication administration and documentation records. Coordinate with parents, guardians, prescribing providers, and pharmacies regarding medication questions or needs. Help manage routine medications and time-sensitive medication requirements for players and guests when properly authorized. Monitor medication supplies and coordinate refills or replacement medications when necessary. Establish clear procedures for handling medications brought to the resort by players, families, or staff. Maintain appropriate confidentiality and protect private health information. Tournament & Resort Medical Operations Provide medical coverage during baseball games, tournaments, and other resort activities. Establish and maintain medical response procedures for tournament operations. Work closely with coaches, baseball operations, security, resort management, and other staff when medical situations arise. Help develop emergency action plans for baseball fields, lodging facilities, and other resort areas. Ensure first-aid supplies, medical equipment, AEDs, and other emergency resources are properly stocked and maintained. Monitor weather and environmental conditions that may create health risks, including heat, dehydration, lightning, and other outdoor hazards. Help educate resort staff and coaches about basic medical response procedures and when professional medical assistance should be requested. Maintain a visible, professional, and approachable presence throughout the resort. Participate in emergency preparedness planning and drills as needed. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate records of medical encounters, injuries, treatments, medication administration, referrals, and other healthcare activities. Maintain appropriate confidentiality of all patient and guest medical information. Follow applicable nursing standards, healthcare regulations, medication regulations, and resort policies. Maintain required professional licenses and certifications. Work with resort leadership to establish appropriate medical policies and procedures. Identify potential health and safety concerns and proactively communicate them to resort leadership. Skills & Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Previous experience in pediatric, sports medicine, urgent care, emergency, camp, school, resort, or community nursing is strongly preferred. Experience working with children and families is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of first aid, injury assessment, medication administration, and emergency response. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to remain calm, professional, and organized during medical emergencies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate and approachable personality. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain accurate medical and medication records. Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality requirements. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with resort leadership, coaches, security, parents, and outside healthcare providers. Comfortable working outdoors and moving throughout a large sporting complex. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during tournament weeks. Pediatric nursing experience is a significant plus. Experience with youth sports or large-scale sporting events is a plus. You will help manage the day-to-day medical needs of a large youth sports resort, including medication needs, minor illnesses and injuries, emergency situations, medical documentation, and coordination with outside healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will be someone who is calm, confident, compassionate, highly organized, and proactive . Scheduling may include extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on tournament and event schedules.
