Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding, full-time contract opportunity where your skills as a Registered Nurse can make a lasting difference in the life of a student. This immediate opening offers a unique chance to provide one-on-one care to a 20-year-old transition student with complex health needs. Your presence will offer vital support—from the bus ride in the morning from Zion to Laremont, throughout the school day, and on the return trip home. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the student's daily medical and transportation needs are met. The position is onsite only and does not require a PEL. You'll be welcomed by a collaborative educational environment dedicated to student well-being.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois Experience with tracheostomy and G-tube care required Previous work in a school or pediatric setting a plus Comfortable providing care to students using a wheelchair Reliable and flexible for consistent bus ride coverage to and from school Effective communicator and compassionate caregiver Dedicated to fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere for students with medical complexities
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct care and supervision to the assigned student throughout the school day and during transit Monitor health status, respond to medical emergencies, and manage trach and G-tube care Collaborate with educational staff and families to support the student's needs and progress Maintain accurate records of care and communicate updates as necessary This is a fantastic chance to engage in meaningful, specialized nursing while working a consistent weekday schedule.
