Job Description

Step into a vital role supporting K-8 students at a dynamic educational setting near Evanston, IL. This full-time, direct hire position invites registered nurses passionate about impacting young lives to provide expert care and leadership in a bustling school environment serving approximately 500 students. Your strong clinical skills will be invaluable for the day-to-day healthcare needs of learners while you collaborate with staff, students, and families to foster a healthy, safe learning atmosphere. School nursing experience is a plus, but nurses from clinical backgrounds who can express their enthusiasm for this rewarding transition are also highly encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois School nursing experience preferred, though not required Candidates from clinical backgrounds should clearly communicate their motivation to move to school nursing Understanding and acceptance that compensation for school-based nursing differs from most clinical roles Willingness and ability to commute to the Waukegan campus; location verification and comfort with the commute are essential
Responsibilities Include:
Delivering direct, compassionate care to K-8 students during school hours Providing health education and resources to students and staff Managing student health records and medication administration Responding to health emergencies and collaborating in crisis plans Serving as a key health liaison among students, parents, and the educational community Enjoy the satisfaction of making a measurable difference in students daily lives while working regular school hours and becoming a valued member of a supportive educational team.
