Description Ensures that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on assigned nursing units, in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and program plans of the hospital. Ensures patient care standards, orientation, and continuing education standards are followed. Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age, specific needs, and plans age specific treatment and care. Other roles and reponsibilities as assigned.
Requirements Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Illinois licensure. Bachelor's degree preferred. PALS, ACLS, and/or Neonatal Resuscitation certificate may be required. Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience. Demonstrated supervisory competence.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise and knowledge in assigned nursing units.
Physical Requirements:
Work is of moderate demand. Routine lifting requirements fewer than 25 pounds, occasional lifting requirements of medium to heavy demand. Standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching required. May be required to assist with and/or transport patients. Works inside. May be exposed to communicable diseases.
