Key Skills & Experience:

Active RN, LPN, or LVN license (Illinois) required Prior school nursing experience is a plus, but not mandatory Confidence working 1:1 with students who have mobility and medical complexities Proficiency in airway management, including suctioning, and use of medical equipment such as vibrating vests Understanding of sleep apnea management and oxygen administration Ability to maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with school staff and families Compassionate demeanor and strong commitment to student safety and well-being

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide continuous nursing care, including suctioning every 2 hours and monitoring a student with sleep apnea and mobility limitations Administer oxygen as needed throughout the school day Support the student during transportation on the school bus to and from campus Maintain close observation and intervene as needed for any medical concerns Communicate regularly with school personnel and families regarding care and changes in condition Ensure medical equipment is operated and maintained according to guidelines This role gives you the chance to form a trusting connection with a student and truly be a source of confidence and security throughout their day.
