Step into a rewarding environment as a school-based Registered Nurse, supporting a student-centered approach to care. In this contract role, youll provide direct 1:1 nursing to an 18-year-old student onsite during school hours. Youll work Monday through Friday with a consistent daytime schedule from approximately 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, alongside a dedicated support team.

Qualifications and Experience:

Active Illinois RN license required Previous experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning strongly preferred Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team Compassion, patience, and a student-focused mindset Commitment to upholding health and safety protocols within a school environment

Core Responsibilities:

Provide essential tracheostomy care and suctioning for an 18-year-old student throughout the school day Monitor overall student health, respond promptly to needs, and administer medications or treatments as prescribed Collaborate with a paraeducator who assists with transfers, personal care, and access to lift devices as needed Work closely with the students educational team, including on-site training with the schools nurses Document nursing interventions and communicate updates to the school team and family as appropriate
