Unit:

16-Bed Med/Surg Acute Unit Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med/Surg Acute team. This 16-bed unit provides care to a diverse patient population while maintaining an excellent 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio , allowing nurses to provide personalized, high-quality care in a supportive team environment. Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate, comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients. Care for patients with conditions including COPD, pneumonia, cellulitis, CHF , and other medical diagnoses. Provide post-operative care for colon resections, total hip/knee replacements , and other surgical procedures. Monitor patients using Nihon Kohden telemetry and independently interpret telemetry strips. Perform thorough assessments, clinical documentation, and ongoing patient monitoring. Demonstrate strong critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills. Collaborate with the clinical care coordinator, charge nurse, CNA, and house supervisor. Assist with outpatient infusions as needed; infusion experience is preferred. Support a high-turnover environment with frequent admissions and discharges. Maintain accurate and thorough charting consistent with quality-care standards. Qualifications Current RN license . 2-5 years of nursing experience , preferably in a rural hospital setting. Strong Med/Surg nursing experience. Telemetry experience is required. BLS certification required. PALS certification required. Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.

Schedule & Unit Details Night Shift:

7:00 PM

•7:00 AM Variable schedule with weekend rotation.

Weekend commitment:

Every other or every third weekend. Schedules are posted 6 weeks in advance and traveler preferences are accommodated whenever possible. No mandatory holiday requirement ; volunteers are appreciated. No required call/standby , with volunteer opportunities available. Floating may include assisting as a safety sitter or in other supportive roles . Unit & Clinical Environment 16-bed Med/Surg Acute unit 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio 1 CNA available for support. High-flow oxygen and Vapotherm available. Patients requiring more complex respiratory support, such as BiPAP, are transferred to ICU. Charge nurse actively takes a patient assignment. House supervisor provides additional support on weekends. High patient turnover with frequent admissions and discharges. Orientation Comprehensive orientation is provided during the first week, including: HR and facility processes Infection control training Equipment familiarization Hands-on training with an experienced preceptor

Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:

$34

•54/hr Potential sign-on/retention bonuses may be determined with the facility at the time of offer.

Additional Information Dress Code:

Pewter scrub tops with black shoes and pants. Colored tops are acceptable when layered with a pewter outer garment.
