JOB DESCRIPTION
We're seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing GI team. This role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional care in a modern, patient-focused outpatient clinic and procedure suite - without the stress of hospital shifts or on-call hours. You'll be part of a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team that values collaboration and high standards of care. The Study Coordinator's primary responsibility is to provide assistance in support of clinical research studies being conducted by the site. The Study Coordinator manages elements of a clinical study in order to meet all protocol obligations while following ICH/GCP guidelines; and company standard operating procedures. These elements include but are not limited to; day to day management of a study and study closure activities. What You'll Do Lead in the recruitment of study subjects Aid in assessing eligibility of patients for participation in protocols Participate in the administration of informed consent process Responsible for the collection, entering, maintenance of data Reviews data and progress notes with CRCs and principal investigator Prepare study files for data Prepare lab kits for upcoming research visits Process blood and urine samples for shipping Perform back-up study coordination if needed by trial schedule What You Can Also Do Provide hands-on patient care across our practice, with opportunities to work in clinic, procedure, and perioperative settings based on experience and interest Triage patient calls, manage prescriptions, and coordinate prior authorizations in the outpatient clinic Welcome and prepare patients for procedures, reviewing histories and ensuring comfort every step of the way Start IVs, administer medications, and monitor patients through sedation and recovery Assist physicians and anesthesia providers during endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies Deliver clear, compassionate patient education before and after procedures Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and team members to maintain an efficient, high-quality workflow Maintain accurate documentation and support quality and safety initiatives Who You Are A skilled, confident RN who brings both competence and compassion to patient care. Energized by a collaborative environment where teamwork, humor, and mutual respect drive success. Comfortable in a dynamic outpatient setting, able to multitask while keeping patient safety top of mind. A great communicator who can put patients at ease and explain care clearly. Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois Current BLS and ACLS certification Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills 1 year experience in clinical research required GI experience is preferred Understanding of medical terminology and clinical trials preferred Phlebotomy experience strongly preferred Flexibility to work between our Libertyville and Northbrook locations Skills required Working knowledge of PCs and word processing and data management software Verbal and written communication Goal-oriented; self-directive Initiation, motivation, creativity Organizational and interpersonal Ability to actively participate as a team player What We Offer Competitive pay: $32 - $44/hour (based on experience) No on-call responsibilities Option for a 4-day work week with limited Saturdays Supportive, upbeat team culture - where your voice is heard and your work truly matters A beautiful, modern work environment designed for efficiency, comfort, and collaboration
