Experience Required:

Minimum 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience

First-Time Travelers:

Accepted; previous travel experience preferred

Pyxis Patient Population Adults only - no pediatrics Common patient types include: Oncology patients Long-term IV antibiotics Injections Blood and platelet infusions Chemotherapy patients Must be comfortable administering chemotherapy agents. Required Certifications BLS ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification Required Skills Chemotherapy administration Peripheral IV insertion/access Port-a-Cath access PICC line access Blood draws from ports for laboratory testing Strong patient assessment skills Ability to recognize and respond to adverse reactions Patient Volume Approximately 10 patients per day through the department No chemotherapy patients scheduled after approximately 2:00 PM Department Support Clinic lead shared between Trinity and South Suburban Hospital Schedulers handle patient appointments Oncologist is on-site at the hospital and available when needed Rapid response can be called; hospitalist/ED physician available for response 1 additional infusion RN Floating Requirement Yes. RN will float among all three infusion centers: Christ South Suburban Trinity Orientation General facility orientation 1 shift of unit orientation to learn department workflow Key Candidate Requirements Must have: 1+ year outpatient infusion/oncology experience Chemotherapy administration experience BLS ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification Peripheral IV, Port-a-Cath, and PICC experience Comfortable managing blood/platelet infusions and recognizing adverse reactions Willingness to float among all 3 infusion centers # healthcare

Pay:

$2,680.00 - $2,880.00 per week
