A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Position Summary The RN will participate in the care of patients undergoing pain management procedures. This may include sedation of the patients during the procedure or admission and discharge duties. This nurse may also have other duties as assigned in the Pain Management Clinic setting. Position Requirements Graduate from an associate degree, baccalaureate degree, or diploma school of nursing. Current RN licensure in the state of Illinois. BLS and ACLS Required Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountabilities) Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice Performs advanced nursing activities, which can include assisting with procedures using conscious sedation, placement of IV's. Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate. Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students. Participates in initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes. Assists Clinic Manager and Pain Management provider in the development of departmental standing protocols and orders. Assess patients in procedural area, both pre and post procedure, review medication, allergies, medical history, and obtain vital signs Initiate IV therapy Triage phone calls, complete prior authorizations, injection screening, and MRI screenings Provide education to patients in the office and post-injection area Order, stock, and maintain supplies for department Assists lnjectionists with procedures (epidural, nerve block, joint injection, radiofrequency nerve ablation, etc The responsibilities listed abbove are not-all inclusive, other activities may be required in the support of the hospital's goals and objectives.
Pay Range:
Pay ranges from $26.688 to $42.740 per hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
