Work closely with a medically fragile 5th-grade female, providing essential 1:1 care throughout the school day and during transportation. This full-time, contract role is perfect for a compassionate nurse comfortable with trach and vent care who values the impact they can make on a childs educational journey.

Key Qualifications:

Active, unrestricted RN license in Illinois Prior experience in a school setting or with pediatrics highly preferred Proficient in tracheostomy and ventilator care Ability to confidently provide 1:1 care and handle emergency situations Effective communicator with students, families, and staff Commitment to upholding student confidentiality and dignity

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver direct 1:1 nursing care for a medically fragile student during school hours and while riding the bus Monitor and manage trach and ventilator needs, adjusting care as medically indicated Collaborate with school personnel, teachers, and families to support the students educational access and day-to-day well-being Accurately document all nursing interventions and observations Ensure adherence to students individualized health plan and act as an advocate for their best interests Respond promptly and appropriately to any changes in medical condition This position begins in late October and runs through the end of the school year, with full-time hours preferred for continuity of care.
