Job Description
Shift:
7:00 AM- 7:30
PM Experience:
- 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
- 12 months of Medical Surgical
- Orthopedic Unit experience.
- Experience with Epic is required.
- Trauma Level 1 experience is required within the last 12 months.
- ASN completion required.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
- This role may require floating to additional units and locations
- Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Credentials:
- ASN•Temp Illinois licensure is not accepted.
Preferred Credentials:
BSN Unit Details:
- Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients every shift.
- Educate ortho and medical/surgical patients on wound care, proper mobility, self-care, medication management, care transition needs, and any additional patient-specific needs.
- Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners on the care of ortho and medical/surgical patients.
- Delegate and monitor interventions of the HCT staff.
- Set up ortho traction and manipulate surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care.
- Manage wound appliances such as wound vacs, drains, pouches, and other urological devices.
Shift & Scheduling:
- 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period.
- Rotating holidays.
- On call: None.
Floating Requirements:
- Will float to similar units.
- Travelers assigned to the Greater Peoria Service Area may be required to float between the following sites: Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital.
- The Carle Leader will notify the traveler directly when there is a need to float between locations.
